No. Prior Yoga Teacher Training is not required. This is the first level of a Yoga Teacher Training program known as a 200-hour level training.

Yes, absolutely! Many students immerse themselves in Yoga Teacher Trainings to deepen their own knowledge and understanding.

We suggest approximately 1 year of Vinyasa Yoga experience before attending the training. However, if you have experience in another type of Yoga and are able to practice Vinyasa before the training starts that is ok too! We encourage students regardless of their physical ability or proficiency in the poses to attend. Yoga is a journey and not destination.

Upon completion of the program you will be a certified 200-hour level Yoga instructor. Hot Yoga Academy is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance (YA) and our graduates are eligible to apply for Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) status. Registration with the Yoga Alliance is not mandatory. Once a student completes this training program they will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level (RYT 200).

Yoga Alliance is an American non-profit organization that “exists to confer credibility on qualified yoga teachers and schools so the public can have confidence in the quality of yoga instruction they receive”. Due to the popularity and growth of yoga in the United States and worldwide, the need for competent teachers and safe classes is apparent. Yoga Alliance sets standards, maintains a registry of yoga teachers whose training and experience meet these minimum standards, along with a registry of Yoga schools whose curriculum meet their minimum standards. Yes, this training is pretty intensive. Spending 28 days on yourself is definitely life changing. Please read Meagans blog to read about her experience from a student’s point of view about how it changed her life. During our last training there were a couple of ladies closer to 40 who commented to a young girl of 23 who had finished the training with them, that she was so lucky to do this training at such a young age as they felt it enriched their lives so much. So, as you can see it is intense and perfect for any age!

Whatever choice you make, whatever school you choose it will be the right choice for you, the universe will support you in the decision. This training is an immersion into the practices and teachings of Yoga. All our teachers are passionate about Yoga and have decades of experience that they would love to share. Lezanne and Heather share a dynamic which provides a really different outlook onto the training that both spiritual and more practical students will enjoy.

Our program provides a strong foundation in Yoga and teaches frameworks for sequencing and alignment that allow our students to modify their classes according to the populations they serve. Our graduates teach in yoga studios, universities, retreat centers and privately. You will be certified to teach Vinyasa, Hatha and Hot Vinyasa and Hot Hatha Classes. You will also be qualified to use props such as blocks, straps and blankets in your teachings.

All manuals and notebooks and the certificate upon completion of the course.

Housing and food. However, accommodation can be included at an additional price. During the July training this is a very popular option as housing is difficult to find in Barcelona in the summer. Please email us for more information about our housing options.

Yes. This is the second level of a Yoga Teacher Training program known as a 300-hour level training, after which you receive your advanced 500-hour title.

The Yoga Alliance requires 20 hours of practice teaching. Hot Yoga Academy provides you with the opportunity to teach 3 one-on-one private sessions to a volunteer student from outside the studio, as well as teaching fellow-trainees. We also require you to teach a group class at the studio during our regular studio hours.

Upon completion of the program, you will be a certified 500-hour level Yoga instructor. This training is quite intensive and dedicating 5 weeks immersing yourself in the practice and traditions of yoga is a life-changing experience, which will not only make you a better teacher, but will deepen your relationship with yourself.

We understand that 5 days of silence is challenging for any trainee. During the first 4 weeks of the course, we will prepare you for the retreat and teach you mindfulness techniques and offer advice to help you during the final week. Daily 1-hour meditations will be also practiced in the first 4 weeks to help you sit for longer periods. If you need extra support during the silent retreat, there will be the opportunity to write down any concerns and questions which is arising for you and one of the lead teachers will address it during the dharma talks that will take place every day.

Our program provides a strong foundation in Yoga Therapy and 1-on-1 private teaching and teaches frameworks for sequencing and alignment that allow our trainees to modify their classes according to the populations they serve. You will feel more qualified to adjust your students, teach privately to a wide range of injuries and mental illnesses and feel more confident in your group classes.

No, you will not be a Yoga Therapist. Training to become a yoga therapist requires over 1000 hours of training.
